Robert Downey Jr. has revealed that he is writing a stage musical.
The Iron Man star has said he has been working on the project for a number of years, and is tirelessly trying to get it finished. "I'm a little busy right now. Every two years or so I'm saying that I am going to do a big musical; I'm just tired of saying that I am going to do stuff that sounds cool. If I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it," he's been quoted as saying.
Downey Jr insists that he isn't just trying to cash in on his fame because he has always considered himself to be a musician. "It's always lame when somebody gets really famous and they say they're going to be a singer. I'm like, You've already won the lottery, so take it easy, moron! But I'm also a composer and I sing what I write," he said.

Guy Ritchie has been ordered to re-shoot scenes from his Sherlock Holmes adaptation.
The 40-year-old director was reportedly left fuming this week after Warner Brothers chiefs told him several scenes didn't reach their expectations.
It has been claimed Ritchie was distracted by his impending divorce from Madonna, who he split from during shooting.
Ritchie has been forced to call back cast including his close friend Jude Law who plays Dr. Watson, and Robert Downey Jr., who plays British detective Sherlock Holmes to remake five weeks worth of footage.
A source said: "It's disastrous news, but Guy has promised to fix it."
Despite movie chiefs being unhappy with the project, Downey recently revealed he thoroughly enjoyed his onscreen "bromance" with Law.
The Iron Man star relished the chance to explore the complicated homoerotic relationship between Holmes and his sidekick, saying: "I think the word bromance is so passe.
"We are two men who happen to be roommates who wrestle a lot and share a bed."
Law also claimed people will be in for a shock when they see the film, based on the books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
He said: "Holmes and Watson are both meaner, harder, more complicated.
"They both live in a London that is much seedier and much more dangerous."

Timur Bekmambetov is proving himself to be better than pretty much any other action director at taking completely loony concepts and making them amazing. So while the notion of Days Before, "an alien invasion time travel" movie, would make me worry with any other director, for Bekmambetov it sounds just right.
Even better: According to Production Weekly, Reese Witherspoon and Robert Downey Jr. are interested in starring. It's kind of like when you were a kid and ice cream and gummy worms were your favorite thing, and then you put them together and didn't necessarily expect it to work, but somehow it did. If these project shakes out-- and given the success of Wanted, it's hard to imagine Bekmambetov getting turned down for pretty much anything. If anyone can bring together Iron Man and June Carter Cash, it'll be this guy.

Robert Downey Jr. is a dude getting ready to portray a dude that's animated by another dude.
The Oscar nominee is set to reteam with Tropic Thunder costar Ben Stiller and reigning comedy golden girl Tina Fey for DreamWorks Animation's latest big-screen offering, tentatively titled Master Mind.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the genre-turning flick will center on a mastermind villain who no longer has purpose in his life after he accidentally kills his superhero nemesis.
It's unclear yet which actor will voice which role, though thanks to Iron Man, Downey is now well versed in the fine art of superheroing.
Stiller, meanwhile, will pull double-duty on the film, as he will also serve as one of its producers. The family-friendly flick is scheduled for a Nov. 5, 2010 release.

Robert Downey Jr says there won't be a sequel to hit film Tropic Thunder.
"I have a feeling that we'd still make some money but it probably wouldn't be as good," he told Extra at the Oscar Nominees luncheon in Beverly Hills.
However the star, who is up for a Best Supporting Actor gong for his role as method actor Kirk Lazarus in the comedy, says he'd be up for doing another film with Tropic co-star Ben Stiller. "I'd like to work with Ben again," he said.
Meanwhile, Robert, soon to be filming the sequel to hit movie Iron Man, revealed he gave some tips to fellow Academy Award nominee Josh Brolin on how to shape up for his next film role.
"I told him do strength training three times a week, start a martial art and watch your diet," he said.
