First Footage of Sherlock Holmes Screened
The only sort of plot was the bad guy saying in a voiceover to Holmes that, "Tomorrow, at midday, the world as you know it, will end." The next scene showed Downey as Holmes saying, "Well, there isn't anytime to waste then, is there?"

A lot of action footage was shown, from Holmes jumping out a third story or so window into the river below (Thames) and shots of Holmes in a bare knuckle fist fight reminiscent of Tom Cruise's fights in Far and Away. Some of the punches were in slow motion kind of like 300. We didn't see Jude Law as Watson until halfway in the footage, when Sherlock wanted to find someone that would compliment his skills. "Holmes, does your depravity know no bounds?" "No." is also exchanged in the footage shown, along with Holmes saying, "Watson, what have you done?"

We see shots of Rachel McAdams, Robert Downey Jr.'s love interest in the film, who knocks him down in one scene , and he wakes up later handcuffed naked to a bed. The last scene shows a maid walking into the room and screaming at the site of a naked Holmes handcuffed to the bed with only a pillow to cover him up. Holmes then says, "Madam, I need you to remain calm and act like a professional. Take this pillow as the key to my release." It was a pretty funny scene.

There were also shots of Holmes picking a lock until Watson just kicks the door in, a scene where he has a hammer but is up against an enormous man wielding a giant sledgehammer. Holmes throws the hammer at the guy's chest and it bounces off with no effect.

Sam Rockwell Rehearsed IRON MAN 2 today with Downey, Paltrow and Cheadle

Director Jon Favreau and his band of merrymen and women, reheased for IRON MAN 2 today in Los Angeles.

Stars in attendance were Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Sam Rockwell.

Favs shared a pic of Rockwell on his Twitter page from the rehearsal with the caption, "Rehearsed today with Mr. Rockwell." Love the Iron Man toys in the back.

Now we just need a "Rehearsed today with Mr. Rourke" image!

Would You Date a Guy With a "Murse?"

This morning’s New York Daily News showed a photo of Robert Downey Jr. carrying the bane of all male accessories: the “murse.” (That’s fashionese for man-purse.) Time for a debate, ladies: Is it a Do or Don’t?

So I thought we were done with the reign of the metrosexual male -- the last time we even used the word "metrosexual" on glamour.com was 2007! -- but seeing this morning's photo proved to me that it's still alive and well in Hollywood, thanks to Robert Downey Jr. Robert is an amazing actor, a hunky leading man...and a repeat murse offender. This sort of puts a dent in his whole Iron-Man-machismo, don't you think? What's he got in there anyways? His lunch?

The murse has its pros and cons. A guy could carry my mini-makeup-touch-up bag, my copies of US Weekly, my liter water bottle -- all the things that make my purse feel like fifty-hundred pounds. But what if you met someone out at a bar and he leans down, picks something up off the floor and then swings a murse over his shoulder?! I’m all for the modern, in-touch-with-his-feminine-side male, but sometimes, a girl just wants a scrubby, jeans-and-T-shirt-wearing dude. Know what I mean?

Times of ‘Tyson’: James Toback’s Heavyweight Documentary
You cast Tyson in Black and White, where he infamously slapped Robert Downey Jr. Was that the first time he was in one of your films?

Yes. When Mike got out of prison, I told him I was starting this movie called Black and White, which I was going to collaborate with the Wu-Tang Clan. He got all excited and wanted to do it. Downey had also just gotten out of rehab or jail. My intuition is that interesting people are more interesting right after they have suffered. It opens them up even further. I felt that both of them would be very good in the movie and good together. I asked Downey what he wanted to play, and he said, “Why don’t I play the gay husband of Brooke Shields?” I said, “Good. Why don’t you play the gay husband of Brooke Shields who hits on Mike Tyson?” It only occurred to Downey at the last minute to ask whether I had told Mike that he was going to hit on him. I said, “No.” Downey said, “What if he gets angry?” I said, “I would assume he would.” He said, “How far do you want me to take it?” I said, “Take it until he responds in the extreme.” Downey responded, “What if he kills me?” I said, “Well, I haven’t thought about that. I think it’s unlikely--no better than a 5% chance. But, at the rate you’re going, you’re going to end up dying in the parking lot of a motel in Culver City. So what would be better ... that or dying like this?” Downey cracked up and proceeded to provoke Mike at great lengths to smack him, choke him, slam him on the ground, and call him a “cum drinker.”

'Thor,' 'The Avengers' release dates postponed, 'Spider Man 4' set for 2011

Bad news for fans of Thor and The Avengers: Marvel Entertainment announced that it'll postpone the release of both films by at least a year. Thor, an adaptation of Marvel's fan-fave comic book, was moved back from July 16, 2010, to June 17, 2011, while The Avengers was postponed from July 15, 2011, to May 4, 2012. But rest assured, Robert Downey Jr. fans: Iron Man 2 will be released as scheduled on May 7, 2010.

Marvel also said Sony will release the much-anticipated Spider-Man 4 on May 6, 2011.

Robert Downey Jr. Spills 'Sherlock Holmes' Secrets!

ET is first on the set of Robert Downey Jr.'s action-packed re-imagining of 'Sherlock Holmes,' and we've got a sneak peek!

"It's pretty badass," Robert tells our own Thea Andrews, joking, "1891 Victorian England was a petty gnarly place -- I like that I actually got the word gnarly in a Victorian description."

Robert's version of Holmes is a whole lot more tough and sexy than you've ever seen before, but Robert says his take on the character was already there in print.

"I think as much as anything, the reinvention is actually a return to the idiosyncrasies that [Arthur] Conan Doyle had in his books that people hadn't really paid much attention to," he says.

'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' director Guy Ritchie brings his unique visceral style to the movie from blockbuster producer Joel Silver, but Robert points out, "The action in the film is visceral, but not so visceral that we can't have the rating we want. This is a film that is actually really accessible to a hugely wide audience, whereas [Guy's] films, famous and influential as they were, were a little more adult. This is a very family friendly version of Sherlock Holmes."

Ritchie actually reveals that he initially wasn't sure Robert was right for the part, saying, "I didn't realize that Robert was an athlete, and gradually it transpired that he's like super fit and he's like a real martial artist."

Rachel McAdams plays Robert's love interest in the film, and says, "I was just really excited and kind of nervous [to work with Robert]. He's so incredibly talented, my nerves quickly subsided and my fears went away."

Jude Law also stars opposite Robert as Homles' trusty sidekick, Dr. Watson, and tells ET, "When I was approached I was very interested initially because Robert was playing Sherlock. It seemed to me that all his past work has been exciting and brilliant. I met him and he was a lovely man, and we seemed to be on the same page as to what can be done with the piece, what can be explored, and Guy brought to me a really fresh and intelligent take on it."

Robert's wife Susan is a producer on the film, and she observes, "Robert certainly has something in common with Sherlock -- he has this incredible brain," adding about Robert's incredible physique in the film, "he worked very hard to get [there]."

"You just get skinny, you don't eat as much and you keep working out," Robert sarcastically says about his ripped bod in the film. "I've heard people have been doing it for years."

Based on a comic book written by the film's producer Lionel Wigram, 'Sherlock Holmes' hits theaters everywhere Christmas Day.
